Grade 7 and Grade 8 (last period)
Gather and record information for your personal narratives.  Interview the person if possible.

Grade 8 (Periods 5 and 7)
Read the Handout "Who Can Replace a Man" and respond in writing to the highlighted "Take Notes."


October 17, 2007

Grade 6
Read the Handout "The Old Woman Who Lived with the Wolves" and respond in the margins to the highlighted "Take Notes."

October 18, 2007

Grade 6
Complete the Reading Skill chart on page 45 of the handout "My Papa, Mark Twain."  This is #3. It will help you review how to use clue words to determine opinion writing. (Remember to refer to our notes on opinion words and phrases- worst, best, and think are some clue words.)

October 19, 2007

Grade 6
Reread your favorite short story from the first two months of school.  Be prepared to tell the class your favorite aspects of the story you choose.  (i.e.; a favorite character's personality or actions, how the conflict is resolved at the end, the theme)

Grade 7
Write the short narrative part of your autobiographical essay.  (Reminder: class has begun writing about "One day my (relative)was there for me."

Grade 8 (last period)
Be prepared to orally tell your short narrative to the class on Monday. This means the one paragraph on "One day my (relative) was there for me."
