Homework Responsibilities:
Students should record their assignments in their homework books.
Daily homework is assigned Monday through Thursday.
Spelling and Vocabulary words for the next week are passed out on Friday.
Generally at least one language arts assignment and a math assignment are given each night.
When there are Special Assignments, such as Projects or Books the entire class is assigned, reminders will be posted here.
No Homework is a very rare event and even then Daily Reading is expected.
Daily Independent Reading is a part of a fourth graders homework responsibility. At least thirty minutes a day spent on this task is strongly encouraged. Reading Logs are available in the classroom to help keep track of what the students have read.
Friday is Quiz Day. On Fridays the children will have a Spelling, Reading, and Vocabulary test. They should study for the Spelling and Vocabulary test as part of their homework during the week.
Often there will be a Math quiz. These papers are usually corrected and given back to them to take home on the same day.
Does your child bring them home to show you? I hope so.
This information is intended to be supportive. It is not meant to take the place of students fulfilling their responsibilities to record daily assignments in their homework books.
