When is my geography homework due?
All assignments will be written on the board and recorded by the student in his/her agenda notebook. If the student does not present homework on the day it is due (provided they were not absent on the day it was assigned), the teacher will stamp in the student’s agenda “Homework Incomplete”. The student may turn in homework assignments late for ½ credit by the end of the following school day. Failure to show the teacher completed homework within a day of when it was due will result in a score of zero for that assignment. Parents should frequently check the student’s agenda for homework assignments, upcoming projects, tests, missing homework notices, and/or teacher notes. (Papers and projects -10pts. each day late.)
What if I am absent from geography class?
It is the student’s responsibility to obtain and complete work they have missed while absent. This includes class work, homework, tests, quizzes, projects, and/or papers. Students have the number of days they were absent plus one to make up work. Assignments can also be found at:
-the homework hotline 781-344-7002, after 4 pm

What if I am absent from geography class? continued
Also, students should make arrangements to stay after school to complete any quizzes or tests, and to receive clarification on instruction.
Can I redo a test I’ve done poorly on?
No!! There are no retakes on quizzes or tests.
What are the rules for Geography class?
In addition to the school rules outlined in the student handbook, the following is expected of everyone.
-Treat all people with respect. Respect is showing consideration in your interactions with others and appreciating everyone’s contributions. For example, please do not interrupt anyone while they are talking. Do not make comments that would deliberately hurt someone or make them feel uncomfortable.
-Be Prepared!!! Students should be mentally ready to learn and be equipped with appropriate school supplies for every class. Effort should be put into each and every activity and assignment.
What are the consequences for not following the rules?
Consequences depend on the type and severity of the incident and the number of times the student has been disrespectful or unprepared in the past. Consequences for not following the rules include.
- verbal correction and student apology/reparation
-temporary exclusion from class/group activities
-temporary or permanent classroom seat change
-after school session (30 minutes)
-phone call to parent/guardian
-referral to principal
What are the classroom procedures for geography class?
-At the beginning of each class, students should sit in their assigned seat, take out their homework, write new homework in agenda, and begin working on the daily assignment.
-If students do not have their homework they should open their agenda so the incomplete assignment can be noted. The assignment can be turned in for ½ credit by the end of the following day. Late assignment may not be turned in during class.
-Students who were absent should confirm missing assignments with teacher and make a plan to complete it as soon as possible. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain, complete, and show the completed assignment to the teacher during activity hour or after school. Students have the number of days they were absent plus one to make up work.
- Students cannot go to their lockers during geography class.
-Gum chewing is not allowed in class.
-Students should raise their hands and wait to be called on in the following instances: when requesting to use the bathroom, when seeking permission to speak during instruction or class discussion, when needing teacher assistance during partner or group work. Students who consistently speak without raising their hands interrupt the learning of their classmates. This will not be allowed!!!!
-Students do not need to raise their hands when throwing something away, sharpening a pencil (do not sharpen during instruction), when taking a tissue, when using the hole punch, or when speaking to classmates during partner or group activities.

-www.schoolnotes.com
