Monday

Movement deals with the movement of resources and goods.   Tonight go home and Identify 12 different items that you own and Identify were these items were transported from.

Item    Where does if come from?

3 pieces of clothing
3 types of food (seasonings, can food, etc.)
3 electronic devices (tv, cell phone, remote, antenna, microwave, etc)
3 Items of your choice

Write a couple of sentences on your findings.  What did you find interesting?  Surprising?  How much do we depend on other countries for our resources?  At least 4 sentences


Tuesday

Introduction to Africa (for next week): Quotes by famous and praised Americans.  Please answer questions in journal at least one page.  Look up words in the dictionary that you do not know.

What are Jefferson’s and Lincoln’s their views of African people?  Do you agree with these statements?  Are Black viewed similarly today?  How are these people praised so much by Americans when they said these things about Black people?  Any additional thoughts.

Wednesday

Introduction to Africa John Henrike Clarke Reading.  Please answer questions in journal (4 sentences for each answer).  Do in Journal.

1.     Please explain why Clarke says that Africa is mystery?  Why is African history unknown to so many people?
2.     What are some of the things that Africa has given to the world according to Clarke?
3.     How might John Henrike Clarke respond to Thomas Jefferson’s and Abraham Lincoln’s quote from last night’s homework?

Complete five themes of geography booklet.
