Hi. I am updating this on Thursday so I hope everyone has a great weekend. There are just a couple of notes before we take a look at the week ahead.
Hand Soap/Baby Wipes: Grade 5 is running low on baby wipes and hand soap. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
H1N1 Clinic: St. Philip is getting ready for the H1N1 clinic that will take place on Monday-December 7. Students have been given information regarding this.
Thanksgiving: Just a quick note to wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving.
A look at the week ahead...
Social Studies: We will continue to work on our "First Thanksgiving" scrapbooks.
Science: Students will finish their lab reports about the effects of acid rain. On a related note, a great big thank you to all students and parents who sent in materials for our experiment.
Math: Students will not have a weekly review due to the fact that it is such a short week. Students and I will spend time reviewing any questions relating to multiplying mixed numbers by fractions.
Spelling/Vocabulary: Students will have their spelling and vocabulary test on Tuesday of this week on their "Thanksgiving" words.
Take Home Reading: Students will not have to fill in their take home reading slip this week, due to the short week. I would ask students to still continue to read for 15 minutes on Monday and Tuesday.
Homework: As a way to show my gratitude for the hardworking class I have, I am not assigning any homework on Tuesday night. Students have worked very hard last week on the lab reports and social studies scrapbooks, they deserve a night off.
