Hi. Welcome back. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Here is a look at the week of 2/8/10...
Writing: Students will be given their "February is Black History Month" writing assignment. This is an outside writing assignment that is to be completed at home. Students will be given a rubric that explains the assignment in detail.
Math: Students will begin working on decimals. We will focus on place value of decimals and adding decimals this week. Students will have their Weekly Review Quiz on Friday.
Vocabulary: Students finished their Units 9-12 review. Students will now begin to work on Unit 13 in their Vocabulary books.
Reading: Orange Group: Students will read "Tonweya and the Eagles" this week. We will focus on the skill of making inferences. Students will also be given their "Old Yeller" assignment for the week.
Reading: Blue Group: Students will read "Rumpelstilskin" this week. We will focus on looking at character types and how they change they change throughout the story. Students will be given their "Black Pearl" assignment for the week.
Important Notes...
Students will still continue to collect donations for "Let's Change the World Through Love."
Tissue/Baby Wipes/Hand Sanitizer: Due to the cold weather, many students are suffering from a cold or a case of the sniffles. We are well stocked on disinfecting wipes but we are in need of tissues and baby wipes. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Permission Slips: Permission slips to attend the Lenten Mass at the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul are due back on February 26. Please note that students will need to bring a bagged lunch-which includes a drink- to school that day.
