the three levels of government.
We have had two maps quizzes already and will continue to do so through out the year.

Update on Oct 17
Testing is now over!!! The students did an excellent job!
We are reviewing the three levels of government. We have just begun talking and learning about the purpose and powers of government. Students have two inclass upcoming projects. They will be going on a scavenger hunt looking through magazines, newpapers and the internet finding instances of "government in action" and the names of our elected officals on all three levels.
Term ends Nov. 2nd.

UDATE on 10/30/07
First quarter is almost over. The quarter ends Nov. 2nd. Report cards will be mailed out.
We just finished our end of unit project. The students researched the three levels of government and went on a scavenger hunt to find names and pictures of the people in charge at the three levels. They displayed all their research on a poster board. Ask your child about it! They did very well.
We will begin having our map quizzes again every Friday beginning Friday Nov 9th. I update school notes every week with the country your child will be quizzed on. They are given a blank map for a study guide on Mondays. They are to take this home and study 5-10 mins a night.

We had a short week this week.
Students spent two days mapping out our classroom. They all did a wonderful job.
This was their first test grade of the second quarter.
We have had a portfolio check, another big grade for the second quarter. Ask your child their

We have just started our unit on culture. The students love this unit because it is all about them.
We will have a quiz Tuesday on the first section of the unit. This will be an open notes quiz.
On Friday the 21st we will have a culture awareness celebration. Students are asked to bring in food as it relates to their culture. More info on this to follow.
