Sports Card Revolutionary Report
Dear Student, February 6, 2009
After holding a topic lottery in class, we will spend three days in the LMS library with Mrs. L. Doherty reading about and researching a person of your choice from the list of People & Patriots of the American Revolution.
„Ò You will take notes on index cards.
„Ò You will complete a works cited worksheet.
„Ò You will produce a short report similar to a sports trading card.
„Ò You will write a paragraph that covers key historical facts that tells what the person did during the Revolution to make himself/herself famous (accomplishments).
„Ò It must include a picture of the person (hand drawn is fine or a symbol that would be logically affiliated with the person if a picture cannot be found) that you¡¦ve done research on.
„Ò You will produce a bulleted list of at least 6 statistical sentences (Stats) that may include dates of birth, death, schooling, physical characteristics, etc.
Please refer to the Rubric or (grading sheet). You should aim for at least a 2 in each category/ performance element. Use an 8 1/2¨ x 11¨ piece of paper landscaped¡¨ horizontally. The Sports Card Revolutionary Report is due by the end of class Friday, February 13, 2009.
