There are three more school days before the wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving. The children have been studying about the First Thanksgiving and the many hardships the Pilgrims faced in order for them to worship in the church of their choice. We discussed the dangers they faced crossing the ocean on the Mayflower, and how difficult it was for them once they landed in America. All these discussions are leading to lessons on thankfulness, and an appreciation for God’s gifts. We would like to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for sharing your children with us. Please try to pray for Mrs. Gray during this time, we all miss her and pray that she will be able to return after Christmas.
We will be sending home the children’s extra clothing and ask you to please return winter clothes in their bags. During these cold and wet months when your child wears boots to school please have him/her bring slippers to school that day. Boots are not allowed in the room and we need something easy for the children to put on. Open backed and decorated slippers are not appropriate for school. We will also be sending their sleeping mats home on Wednesday.
We would like to remind you that the children’s folders need to be emptied every night, and returned the next day. Even though we are allowing backpacks the folders are still necessary in order for us to stay organized. Please remember to call or write a note if the pick-up instructions change.
