Students will be able to do the following:
1. Describe the achievements of the Mayan, Aztec, and Incan civilizations. (1,2,3)
2. Explain the conquest and destruction of native cultures that follow the Spanish conquest of Aztec and Incan civilizations (1,2,3,4,5,6)
3. Explain the political and economic motives for European exploration (1,2,3,6,9)
4. Explain the transition from an agricultural society to an industrial one (1,2,3)
5. Identify major figures in he Enlightenment and describe their impact on government and society. (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10)
6. Identify the main geographic features of Mexico and Central American, the Caribbean and South America and explain their effect on people’s way of life. (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10)
