MONDAY-NO SCHOOL-OCT. 13-COLUMBUS DAY

****DISMISSAL-Please send a note to school if your child is to be dismissed to someone other than the regular pickup person.  Also, make sure they are on the list of authorized release list that is in the office.

TUESDAY-Library

Circle Time-Every morning I read a passage from Blessings Every Day and we say our daily prayers.  We will review our schedule for the day and who the helpers will be.  We will sing our morning song and do the calendar.

Class Mascot-We have a (stuffed)dog, Coco, that is our class mascot.  Every friday someone will be selected to take Coco home for the weekend.  There is a journal and your child must dictate the real or imaginary experiences the Coco has over the weekend.  They may illustrate the story with a picture.    
  
Phonics/Reading-The children will meet the letter and sound Tt. They will listen to the story "Dinner at the Panda Palace."  The new sight words this week are-orange, green . Thursday and Friday I will be testing the children on the sight words.

Math-We will continue with Chapter 3.  The children will identify positions-above, below, top, middle, bottom, on, over, under, inside, outside, in front, behind, left, right, between, before and after.

Handwriting-The children will print uppercase and lowercase Tt.  They will continue to practice printing their names with the first letter capital and the rest of the letters lowercase.

Science-We continue our unit on Weather.  We will discuss Cloudy and Rainy weather.

Weekly Reader-We Pick Pumpkins in the Fall  

Religion-We will continue with the story of Creation.  We will recite daily the Our Father and the Hail Mary along with practicing the Sign of the Cross.

Table 2-Math-Halloween Sorting circles
Table 3-Sponge paint-Fall Leaves  

Birthday Treats-No peanut/tree nut items. No cake or cupcakes. Here are some preferred treat items-individual bags of chips, fruit snacks, cereal bars, popsicles)  Please contact me if you wish to send a treat in for your child's birthday.

Recess-I try and get the children out on the playground in the morning and then after lunch.  Please have them wear weather appropriate outer wear when needed.
