Hello,
In MATH we are subtracting large numbers that require trading (borrowing)tens and hundreds.
We practicing with flash cards addition facts to 18. We are trying to increase speed by memorizing the facts. We will practice subtraction too. Asking your child facts while traveling in the car would be a good way to review.
This coming week we will be studying geography and map skills for social studies.
We encourage healthy snacks. We have learned to read food labels to identify the ingredients. Jolynn Stevens has been visiting with activities about health and nutrition.
Students have published a few pieces Students will focus on revising which is adding more details or information to enhance the piece. We will edit and publish stories on the computer.
New SPELLING words will be introduced on Fridays, and tests will be on Thursdays. This gives students a few extra days to study.
