The sixth grade is progressing beautifully in their writing! They seem to want to learn all these new techniques and are working incredibly hard to improve with each draft I assign them.
Today I handed back the next draft of their essay on their accomplishments. Their final draft for this essay is due next Tuesday, the 24th. (They have a book report due that date as well so we discussed that they should rewrite their book report this week and do their final draft of their essay on Sunday.I stressed that they should not leave it all for one day, especially since Mr. M assigned their book report so long ago.)
In class we have been working on better sentence structure, most particularly, how to avoid run-on sentences. Next Tuesday, they also have due a few run-on sentences to fix in the packet we read and worked on in class the last few sessions. They should keep all of this material in their writing enrichment folders.
It has been a pleasure thus far working with your children and watching them progress in the manner they have exhibited!
Thank you very much,
Susan Kilman
