NEW BOOK REPORT : Please look over assignment sheet with your child. The due date for the oral book report presentations will be June 4th( for those students who have read their books and want to get it completed early), and June 11th .There will be a short quiz on their books to insure that they continue reading on Wed. 5/28
We will also be starting a fantastic poetry unit next week! All students need a poetry folder.
All students should continue to gather research materials. They need one book, one newspaper or magazine article and one website.Their final outlines for their persuasive research reports will be due this Thursday, 5/15
We will work on creating strong conclusions in class after the outline process has been completed. We will also examine the outlines to determine if anything is missing/lacking in their research materials.
***It might be helpful to sit and look over the research assignment with your child. Some students are grasping the process and requirements with more ease than others.
We ALSO discussed methods to create an excelllent thesis statement. Ask your child about umbrella statements and what goes underneath them!
