Friday, June 20th- Last day of school for students!  Thanks for sharing your wonderful children with me this year!  Have a great summer!!

**We are all out of Kleenex tissues in the school.  If you haven't already sent in a box, it would be greatly appreciated if you could donate a box.  Our allergies thank you!!!

Math:  We are wrapping up the year with a review of most concepts learned this year.

Reading:  We are finishing up with the Reading Street Anthology and will be working on written response activities for other fine literature.

Writing: Students have been eagerly writing folktales as a spinoff from our guest storyteller, Eshu Bumpus.  We have written a section each day, starting with the Introduction, then moving on to the Departure, Travel, Problem, Solution, and finally will be home Safe this week.  Be sure to have your child read you his/her story when it is finished.  Students learned a lot from Eshu and have really enjoyed writing these folktales.

Science :  We recently finished our unit on matter/water and will be starting our unit on rocks and minerals this week.

Global Studies:  We are finishing our study of India.  Students enjoyed a lot of first hand knowledge from Mrs. Baker, one of our paraprofessionals.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about anything, please don't hesitate to contact me through email, notes, or telephone.  My email address is sraffalo@crec.org . and the phone number at school is 622-5400.

Thanks for visiting!

Sheri Raffalo

*Please remember that a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast and snack are vital to your child's success in school.  We are very busy in third grade and need to be rested and ready to listen and learn to the best of our ability.  Also, please remember to check with your child about their supply of pencils and correcting pens, and replenish as needed.  Thanks!!!
