CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
1. Be in your seat with ALL materials BEFORE the bell rings.
2. One person speaking; all others listening. No inappropriate
language will be tolerated!
3. Push chairs under the tables, and clean up after yourself.
4. Class work is quiet time for all.
5. Operate computers only under specific directives. No
automatic use or personalizing the computer’s settings. Only
school work on the computers; no other sites visited.
6. Disciplinary consequences will result when classroom
procedures have been violated.
CLASS NEEDS (MATERIALS)
1. Notebook with 3-ring or pockets for (note taking and
handouts).
2. Pencils and pens for writing (any color ink is fine).
3. Assigned books and materials (DON’T ask to go back to your
locker).
4. A floppy disc/ flashdrive for your computer work to be filed.
No computer use until you have one or the other.
5. Agenda and ID for leaving the classroom.
6. A positive, respectful attitude everyday for all.
GRADING POLICY
1. HOMEWORK: 10%: (Note) one day late will result in a loss of 10 points. Homework, if not handed in on the assigned due date, will only be collected one day late. Per student handbook, every day of absence yields two days for make up.
2. TRIMESTER ASSESSMENTS: 10%
3. QUIZZES: 15% This applies to announced and/or pop quizzes.
4. IN-CLASS WORK: 35% (Late class work will NOT be accepted; these are assignments due by the period’s end)
5. TESTS/PROJECTS/PRESENTATIONS: 40% (Late projects/presentations will lose 5 points per day up to a total of 20 points off the grade given, not off 100 points.)
6. CLASS PARTICIPATION: Participation is a positive direction for your grade. It is only meant to enhance your grade. It will not be used to penalize your grade.
Your final English grade is determined by taking 90% of the grade earned in class with 10% earned on the DWA for each trimester.
My signature attests that I understand these rules and will abide by them although I may not agree with them.
