Fourth graders have been playing recorders in music class since November. We are using a new recorder method this year called "Recorder Karate". Different colored "belts" are given when certain playing skills are achieved. So far, many of the students have earned their white, yellow, orange, green, and purple belts! One of the students has earned all 9 belts! Congratulations, Audrey!
4 fourth graders participated in the CT Elementary Honors Choir in April. 150 children (grades 4-8) from around the state sang together for this event as part of the CT Music Educators Association conference. Nathan, Micah, Sierra, Audrey had a great time making music with the group and the director, Sally Albrecht.
The third grade classes attended a performance of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra on May 4. On March 3, a violinist with the NHSO visited our school and gave a presentation to our third grade classes. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to her play her violin and talk about the music that we heard at the concert.
