Monday 7th: I will collect questions on Chapters 1 & 2. Students will receive Literature Packets. In groups, decide which task you will take for tonight’s reading (Facilitator, connector, etc). HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 3 and complete your task for your literature packet.
Tuesday 8th: Students will share information from their Lit packets with their groups. Students will complete vocabulary Chapter 3 together. Assign a different Lit. Circle task to each student in the group. HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 4 and complete your Literature Circle task.
Wednesday 9th: Discuss your information from your task with your group. When done students complete vocabulary Chapter 4 in groups. Assign a different Lit. Circle task to each student in the group. HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 5 and complete your Literature Circle task. REMEMBER! FROG BREAKFAST ON FRIDAY!! PLAN WHAT YOU WILL BRING!

Monday 7th: Discuss Chapters 29 and 30 TKMB together. Students will receive a handout with themes evident in TKMB. In groups discuss these themes. HOMEWORK: Choose one of the themes and write a rough draft connecting that theme to TKMB. DUE: Wednesday, 9th.
Tuesday 8th: I will read the short story “The Mary Celeste” to students. Discuss. Students will receive a “Mystery Writing Packet.” Students will find examples of the concepts noted in their packets in “The Mary Celeste.” HOMEWORK: Finish typing Mockingbird theme paper. Due: tomorrow.
Wednesday 9th: Students will receive a writing hints packet. Each student presents an element of writing to the whole class. Discuss together. Students will choose mystery books. HOMEWORK: Read “Mystery Writing With Joan Lowery Nixon.”
Thursday 10th: Students will receive a “Story Recipe for Fiction” handout. Discuss together. Students will meet in groups and take the “Joan Lowery Nixon” piece and identify parts of the story recipe in that short story. HOMEWORK: Reread “The Mary Celeste” and identify parts of the story recipe in that short story.
Friday 11th: Discuss “The Mary Celeste” short story and its mystery elements together. Students may start reading mystery books. NO HOMEWORK! HAPPY VACATION AND …I WILL MISS YOU ALL……
