About me
Let me introduce myself. My name is Linda S Desousa. I am fortunate to be the Department Head of Cosmetology at Kaynor Tech. It is a pleasure to teach your children. My credentials are the following:I graduated at the top of my class in Hairdressing and was awarded a scholarship to continue my hairdressing studies. I trained in New York, Ct, Boston and Canada.I have been teaching for 21 years in the Vo. Tech. system. I have been Department Head for Cosmetology 12 years out of my 21 years of service.I was awarded the Teacher of the year in two different schools.
Cycle: 1/24--6/5/08 for JUNIORS:
Completion of Chemical Texturizing, Complete practical workbook and theory workbooks.Test will follow.
Demonstrate all the various thermal stlying tecniques.Test will follow. Second marking period exams are due. All cutting techniques will be shown and tested on.Nail and skin care will round out the skills for the school year. Test will follow. Final exams in June
Juniors will be taking thier final exam on May 30th . Please encourage study time. Thanks
Senior's will take thier final exam on June 10th. Please encourage study time Thanks.
Several seniors will be taking thier July Cosmetology exam.To all my students and thier families have a great summer.
1/7---6/20/08 for SENIORS:
We will be reviewing for the State Board Exams. Please encourage to have your child study their State Board Exam review booklet This will continue throughout the entire second and third marking period.Second marking period exams next cycle for seniors.
-test packets will be used
-repeated test taking until a student scores not less than a 80 on each chapter is expected. Final exams in June. Their State Board exams are in May and July 08
