Students are to...

•    Come to class on time
•    Self-initiate the ‘Problem(s) of the Day’ (POD) with homework assignment on corner of desk for evaluation
•    Participate in review of the POD
•    Take appropriate notes as given (as neatly as possible)
•    Participate in class discussion/activity of the topic at hand
•    Review main concepts/skills learned
•    Write down homework assignment given

Also, ALL rules from the student handbook apply.

GRADING:


Tests and Projects                35%

        There will be 1 (one) announced test per chapter and 1 (one) project per trimester.

Quizzes                              30%
        Quizzes may be unannounced and variable.
    
Class/Group Work                        15%
        This may include but is not limited to the completion of practice problems, questions and answers based on reading, note taking, etc.    
Homework                    10%
        Homework will be assigned approximately 4 nights a week.

District Trimester Assessment        10%
        All students are expected to achieve at least a 70 on each Trimester Assessment.

        Texts, Notebooks, Calculator, and Pencils are required daily!

GOALS PER CLASS:


ALGEBRA I
Trimester One:
     1. Arithmetic concepts in an algebraic setting
     2. Real number operations
     3. Linear equations

Trimester Two:
     1. Graph and interpret linear equations
     2. Probability

Trimester Three:
     1. Integer exponents
     2. Polynomial operations
     3. Right triangles

GEOMETRY
Trimester One:
     1. Two and three dimensional measurements
     2. Basic elements of geometry

Trimester Two:
     1. Line and angle relationships
     2. Parallel and perpendicular lines
     3. Triangle relationships

Trimester Three:
     1. Congruent and similar figures
     2. Properties of polygons

HONORS PRE-CALCULUS
Trimester One:
     1. Review the concepts of a function
     2. Analyze and problem solve using polynomial and rational functions

Trimester Two:
     1. Analyze and problem solve using exponential and logarithmic functions
     2. Use trigonometry to evaluate, graph, and problem solve

Trimester Three:
     1. Introduction to limits: a fundamental concept of calculus

HONORS TRIGONOMETRY
Trimester One:
     1. Trigonometric Functions
     2. Acute Angles and Right Triangles
     3. Radian Measure and Circular Functions

Trimester Two:
     1.    Graphs of the Circular Functions
     2.    Trigonometric Identities
     3. Trigonometric Equations

Trimester Three:
     1.    Application of Trigonometry and Vectors
     2.    Complex Numbers, Polar Equations, and Parametric Equations

Section 3

Trimester 1 Portfolios are due on November 5, 2007.
Trimester 1 Projects must be complete by November 5, 2007.
District Trimester Assessment 1 will be given on November 27, 2007.
