INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC CLASSES.

The instrumental music classes are up and running but, because of the school schedule, full band rehearsals have not yet been scheduled.  The administration has assured me that the problem will be remedied as soon as possible.

The Veteran's Day Parade was on Sunday November 8th and the Cloonan Band participated with distinction.  Out of the approximately 170 students in the instrumental program, about 125 were able to participate in the annual event.  I congratulate them all.

The Cloonan Band will not be participating in the annual Holiday Spectacular parade this year because the parade officials wanted us to be there at 10 O'clock for a 12 O'clock parade.  I did not think it was fair to the kids to make them stand around for two hours waiting for the parade to start.  There are no Port-A-Potties available and the local merchants refuse to allow the kids to use their bathrooms.  This is the first balloon parade that Cloonan will miss.

The instrumental students are now working toward our winter program which is tentatively scheduled for December.  More information to follow later.

A NEW FEATURE

I will try to select a boy and girl instrumental "student of the week" from each grade level.  These people may not be the best players in the band, but, they show a willingness to participate and an eagerness to learn.  The first names will be for Friday November 20th.  Congratulations to all of them.

Sixth Grade Student of the week.
