We have been having a great time in school! Thank you for all of the cleaning wipe donations to the classroom and all of the parent volunteers for our fun activities!
This website provides weekly vocabulary flashcards, homework information, what's new in the classroom and important dates to remember. I encourage all students to use the links provided both in class and at home for extra enrichment and enjoyment.

Science:
We will investigate the different types of snowflakes. We will figure out what they look like and see if temperature has an impact on their shape. We will make our own picture depicting our favorite type of snowflake!
Social Studies:
We will learn about our current fundraising effort Pennies for Patients. We will investigate reasons why we participate. We will also study the specific coins and how they have changed over the years. We will sort coins and count what we have collected!
Reading:
We have been reading some really fun books. Our whole group reading has been focusing on Tommy Tales books and beginning chapter books. Small reading groups are going well and we are reading some great books and keeping an organized reading journal.
Always remember when reading:
--What is schema? (How we relate to the story personally)
--Use your schema to pick books that interest you!
**Please try to read at least 15 minutes every night!
Homework: Homework will be assigned every Tuesday and Thursday. Assignments will be based on what students learned in class that day in language arts and mathematics. Papers should be turned in promptly the following morning! Additional homework is always available as extra credit, but is not mandatory. Weekly language arts enrichment packets will also be distributed.
