TEST NEXT MONDAY 11/16/09
Topic: Environmental Issues, Pollution, and Global Warming

Test will be comprised of 5 short answer questions (each question will require 1-2 paragraphs). Here are the short answer topics that might be on the test:

1. Explain how farming/agriculture is the number one contributor to water pollution in the United States. Why cant we just get rid of say, half the farms in the U.S, therefore cutting the pollution in half?

2. Think back to the laws that apply to hazardous materials and the environment. Identify three laws that you think are the most beneficial for the environment and explain why.

3. Industrial waste is a major contirbutor to pollution but, improving environmental laws and making new technologies to improve the environment and limit pollution would be very expensive. Limiting industry could also have other very harmful affects on the economy.
What is more important - The environment or the economy? Explain.

4. Is global warming fact or fiction?

5. The United States often gets blamed by the world community for the levels of pollution we create through agriculture and industry. Are we at it alone? Is it right that the United States bear the majority of the blame for global pollution?

6. It seems that the levels of CO2 and pollution just keep increasing. Should the government become more invovlved in your life to make sure we stop polluting, or should it be up to the individual to make their own choices on pollution?
