As you know, we had some SMS students enter the "Doodle 4 Google" contest this month. It was tough, but myself and a few other faculty members chose 6 entries to be sent to California. The following students await the next level of judging:

Also: one our 8th graders had her artwork selected to be part of the Union County Teen Arts tour! Yolande Edme's lovely yet eerie sunset sky photograph, entitled "Stay Gold" will be displayed at various locations throughout Union county over the next 12 months. Keep a look out for her work! The first stop of the tour: a "Meet the Artist" Showcase at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway. On April 16th at 7pm, all of the exhibition artists will have a chance to enjoy each other's work in visual arts, dance, poetry/writing, drama and music. It is wonderful to see this self-expression!
