Grade 6 World Geography

Friday November 20
Students went over the 3 branches of government, checks and balances, and Canada's parliamentary democracy.

Homework:
Get quiz signed by Monday
Make sure the notes you were given are organized in your binder.

Thursday November 19
Students received quizzes back and turned in bathroom passes for extra credit. Notes were distributed about the Three Branches of Government.

Homework:
Get quiz signed.

Wednesday November 18
We reviewed America's history along with Canada's history with a timeline. We then started a KWL chart about the United States' government.

Homework:
Begin columns 1 and 2 to be checked tomorrow. Period 1 already had time to complete this.

Tuesday November 17
We completed Ms. Pullin's activity and we examined the major events of American history much more closely.

Homework:
None

Monday November 16
Ms. Pullin conducted a lesson American History.

Homework:
Finish worksheet from class

Grade 8 U.S. History

Friday November 20
Students reviewed the Declaration of Independence and completed a t-chart listing actions and ideas. They also started constructing their own Declaration of Independence.

Homework:
Finish Declaration for Monday.

Thursday November 19
Tic Tac Toe activity was returned and reviewed. Also, the Declaration of Independence was analyzed with focus on the people and ideas who influenced this historical document.

Homework:
Begin writing your own Declaration of Independence.

Wednesday November 18
We continued the use of the SQ3R strategy and reviewed it as a whole class. We then began to look at the Declaration of Independence.

Homework:
None

Tuesday November 17
We learned a new reading strategy called SQ3R and applied that understanding to the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

Homework:
Finish tic tac toe activity for anyone that is late. You must acquire 10 points!

Monday November 16
Continuation of Friday's activity

Homework:
Finish tic tac toe actvity. You must have 10 points

Friday November 13
Students were able to start the tic tac toe activity.

Homework:
Finish task(s) begun in class. Monday's class will be the last period you will get to work on this.

Thursday November 12
Review of tic tac toe activity about the buildup to the Revolutionary War.

Homework:
Identify which tasks you want to work on in class tomorrow.

Wednesday November 11
Students completed with me the different points of view between the Colonists and British Parliament.

Homework:
None

Tuesday November 10
Students worked on the rest of the packet given out yesterday. This was completed by the end of the period and we started to go over it.

Homework:
None

Monday November 9
We worked on a map activity focusing on the beginnings of the American Revolution.

Homework:
Map is due tomorrow
Packet is due Wednesday
