Welcome to Mrs. Kilduff's classroom web page!

On this site you will find: weekly spelling words and reminders about upcoming projects, due dates for those that are in progress, and any extra credit suggestions.  I hope that this site will be of help to all of my students and their parents alike.  Please feel free to email me with comments, suggestions, or questions as they arise.

                      IMPORTANT!

FYI: Every week students will have spelling words and spelling homework.  The words are given on Tuesday, and the homework will be due in class on Thursday. Spelling quiz will be given on Friday. Additionally, there will be a "Dailies" assignment given every Monday.  The Dailies will be reviewed at the time given...they are not easy.  Therefore, if any student has questions about the assignment, is confused, or otherwise they are advised to see me either during their regularly scheduled class period or during the 7th period "student contact" time (held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday).

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.  I look forward to a wonderful year with the eighth grade students at Frankford Township Middle School!
Mrs. Kilduff

We are currently writing a Memoir, and will be in the computer lab to type on Thursday (2/14), Tuesday (2/19), and Wednesday (2/20).  The paper is due by the end of class on Wednesday the 20th.

2/14/08
FYI: Due to the weather, and the missed school day yesterday, the new dates for the computer lab will be 2/19, 2/20, & 2/21.  Therefore, the new due date for our Memoir essay will be on the 21st.  Additionally, all students were given an extra day to get their homework in; however, our quiz will remain as scheduled.
We were able to use today's class to peer edit & revise.  Take advantage of the long weekend to make some revisions to your paper.  Check those comments!  Remember...your thoughts and feelings need to be clear throughout your essay!

We begin our Analytical essays this week.  So far, we have had some practice with poetry (with a wonderful performance by Nick & Trevor during period 4), and are going to be looking at examples of how to analyze short stories and novels prior to embarking on our own papers.  Start thinking about a story or poem that has had an impact upon you; perhaps you'd like to write about it!  Although we have just begun, essay requirments and a grading rubric have already been issued.  Next week we will begin the writing process by heading to the computer lab in order to formulate our rough drafts.  Good luck and happy writing!
