Welcome to Mrs. Cassa's webpage.  My mission is to keep you up to date on scheduled projects and tests and quizzes in the content areas for the following two weeks.  I will try to keep you abreast of the due dates of long term projects, test, and quizzes. Language Arts- finish the Holes assignment-(chapters 35 and 36 and complete the hand-out)
Social Studies- Nothing due tomorrow but the newspaper is due on Nov. 11

Math-3-1 B decimal worksheet
Science- Guided reading and study on volcanic landforms
Language Arts- Read chapters 35 and 36 and complete the hand-out that goes along with the reading assignment by Wednesday, Nov.4
Social Studes- None

No Homework... Have a great Halloween....
You can work on your Greek newspaper or review for your Quest in Science

Math- Cover your textbook if it isn't already covered
finish math vocabulary if it isn't completed
Otherwise, no homeword
Science- Finished your class assignment if it isn't completed.  Illustrate and label a volcano.  You can use the illustration on pg. 93.  The drawing and labeling should be neat.

Social Studies- Finish the outline for Chapter 7 section 1 if it isn't completed in class

Social Studies- Read worksheet on Greek Philosophy and highlight important information and answer Review questions in complete sentences

                   Monday, Oct. 19th
Math- Worksheet practice 2.4 B and textbook Pgs. 76 and 77(Textbook review)
Language Arts- If you haven't completed the story elements outline for Part 1 in Holes, please complete it
Science- if you and your partner haven't already completed the research on earthquakes, split up the research and complete it for homework
Social Studies- None

Science- Finish the last page of the earthquake packet

Language Arts- Finish reading Part 1 of Holes

Social Studies- Quiz  remember to review the questions assigned from the chapter, the key terms, and the Minoan and Mycenaean city states

Language Arts- Review for your Framing Your Thoughts Quiz and short spelling test oncompound words and words with prefix, un.  (It is only a spelling test)
Science- Review for the science quiz- Know the definitions and identify pictures of the different kinds of faults
Social Studies- Review key words, and the questions from the section as a review

Social Studies- Outline Chapter 6 Section 1 (You can use the skeletal outline that was distributed or make your own)

Social Studies- None but remember there is a quiz on Chapter 6 section 1 next Monday, Oct.19th

Science- Complete 5 paragraph essay by Monday.  Use the assignment description, graphic organizer, and rubric to assist you in the writing.

Science- review notes on the steps of the scientific method. Review teacher's notes of sea floor spreading especially the evidence of sea floor spreading.  Look at the diagram on the back and illustrates expansion and subduction.

Social Studies- If your score was below 75, you must make corrections for half credit.  If your score is above 75, the corrections are optional.

Social Studies- read and highlight the important information on Greek Gods and Goddesses and answer the 2 questions at the bottom of the page. Remember to strive for 5 sentences per question.

Language Arts- Finish character web attributes
Find 3 sentences in Holes and identify the simple subject and simple ACTION predicate

Math- pgs. 26+27 Notebook Review and Review Quiz

Social Studies- Finish the 3 geography activites (physical map of Greece, the questions on geography, and the notes from the Smart Board interactive map)

Language Arts- Bubble Book should be finished by Tuesday

Language Arts- Complete the character web.  Include the following: physical traits, personality traits, talents, and think of symbols that show what the person is like.  Include 10 clues to describe your character

Social Studies: Bring in all the materials that you will need to complete the "Who Am I" project.  It is due at the end of the social studies class on Monday, September 14.  The paragraph will be written in class, but have the following: baby picture, a coat of arms (You can draw it or find it on the internet after you research your last name, surname)the meaning of your first and last name (If you can't find the meaning of your first name then research your middle name.)

Math: No Homework

Science- Complete worksheets: Earth's Interior pgs. 48-50

Social Studies- None

Language Arts- Have a parent sign the procedure sheet indicating he/she has read and reviewed it with their child.
