Week of May 11
Reading--Our Anthology story for this week is the story of Amelia Earhart. Our focus is summerizing, compound words and the sounds of oy/oi, ou/ow
Spelling - Our list includes--
boys, mouse,toy,noise,sound, town,people,father,should,horse
Printing-We will continue to practice proper size and shape of letters.This week we will work with
u,s,b-both lower and upper case letters.
Math-We are enjoying using coins to "buy" snacks from our Snack Shack! Thank you so much for contributing to it. We choose a snack whose price is listed on it. Then we take the coins we need to buy it. We have "Show the money" and count it out.
Social Studies-We will continue to work on finding info. using maps, as well as learning about our country's history by reading and discussing Memorial Day
-Science- We are learning about our Solar System. The Star Lab was very exciting for the children.
****Please send back the Read-at-Homes on Thursdays each week. Some children forget and they cannot enjoy a new book. Please remind them to bring them in so they can share with volunteer moms.
