The Middle School offers numerous extracurricular clubs and sports for our students.  The Guidance Department recommends students get involved in some activity during the school year as a way to feel connected to the school community.  Below is a list of clubs offered at the Middle School:

VACATIONS

If you are planning a vacation that will result in your child missing school, please inform the guidance department in writing at least two weeks in advance.  A Leave of Absence Form will be provided and students are responsible to meet with teachers to receive assignments, prior to leaving, according to instructions on the Leave of Absence Form.

ILLNESS

If a student is absent from school for more than one day, the parent or guardian should call the Guidance Office to request assignments.  The request should be made 24 hours in advance in order to give teachers time to compile assignments.  Parents can pick up work on the front counter in the office until 4:00PM.

UPCOMING DATES & EVENTS TO REMEMBER

*The New Jersey ASK will be administered to all 7th and 8th grade students April 28th - May 1, 2008.

*The New Jersey ASK will be administered to all 6th grade students May 5 - 8, 2008.

*Students needing working papers should see their Guidance Counselor.  You must be 14 years of age to receive your working papers and be sure to have a promise of employment.

*The Algebra prognosis will be administered to all 7th grade students during the latter part of May.  more information will be forthcoming.

*8th grade students who selected honors courses for 9th grade will have a meeting with parents and the teachers from the high school in May.  More information will be forthcoming.

*Applications for the Cape May Technical High School are available in the Guidance Office.

*Students interested in getting more information about the Cape May County Technical High School should put a Request To See Mr. Kaighn or Ms. Pedroni in their respective mailboxes.

*Freshman Course Selections. Parents and students can review the course offerings available for graduating 8th graders to take during their freshman year.  A brief synopsis of the topics covered, as well as course proficiencies are provided.

*The Middle Township Middle School joined millions of students this year promoting tolerance and crossing up the social boundaries of the cafeteria by participating in "MIX IT UP DAY".  Ms. Pedroni and I would like to thank the students for their cooperation during the activities and give a special thanks to Mrs. Logan for the pictures and the Peer Leaders for their ideas and assistance which helped to make the event a success!
