The students will be starting the Kirby Road Trip. This is a virtual journey to a state in the continental United States. While on this trip, the students will research the state of choice. The students will learn where to find information, and how to document it. Students will also use their money and budget skills to make all necessary purchases to complete this simulated trip to the state, including gas, hotel and food. A daily writing journal will encourage creative writing about the various points of interest the students will visit on the trip. And, a letter will be written, requesting information form the state tourism office. This project will be a fun way to successfully apply the many skills learned over the past school year, from Language Arts, Mathematics and Social Studies.
