SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD:
Please continue to visit my web site for information that will enable you
to help support his/her progress this year.  Your child's binder is
another item to check throughout the school year.  When you become familiar
with your child's binder, you will be able to quickly discover how he/she
has been doing: at keeping an organized binder; on each quiz or test;
and with keeping up on any assignments.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:
If your child has ever neglected to turn in his/her homework and/or projects
on time, please help encourage him/her to make a new start.

For Homework Assignments see
Homework

If your child needs help making up any work
during the school year, he/she is
welcome to join me after school.
For the most up-to-date information see
After School Help Reminder

GRADING POLICY:
I use a point system to help me grade each student's various
Participation, Quizzes, Tests, Class/Homework Assignments,
Notebooks, & Projects.  Points will accrue over the current
marking period, as total points your child earned over total
possible points.  (Grades will be calculated by dividing total
points students earned by the total possible points; then,
multiplying that result by 100.  For example, 175/200 = 0.875
and 0.875 x 100 = 87.5%)

Quizzes will be graded according to the number of problems correct
over the total number of problems given.  (A quiz with 20 questions
will be weighted as 20 possible points.  If a student gets 18
problems correct, that student will earn 18/20 = 90%.)

Tests will be weighted twice as much as quizzes.  (A test with 20
questions will be weighted as 40 possible points.  If a student
gets 18 correct, that student will still earn 90%, but it will
count "double" and contribute 36 out of 40 points toward the
current marking period's grade.)

Participation, Class/Homework Assignments, Notebooks, and Projects
are items that may vary and be differentiated by student each
marking period.  Each of these grades will also be calculated
according to the number of points a student earned out of the
total given points possible.

WANT TO CONTACT ME?
If you ever have any questions or concerns,
please feel free to contact me at the school
or send me an e-mail.
HINT:  You may also correspond to me by writing a note
for your child to give to me.  Just put it in the
"To Be Handed In" section of his/her binder to help
remind your child to turn it in to me.

     Thanks for visiting!!
