We have entered the 4th MP and the students in grades 5-8 are in the middle of the President's Physical Fitness Challenge. This challenge consist of 5 elements.
All students are expected to participate in the challenge and to put forth their best effort. This physical fitness challenge should give us all an idea of the level of fitness each student possesses. In these times of technology we often forget about exercise and our children may be suffering phycially and medically because of too much time being spent on the computer, listening to i-pods, or playing video games. We all need to give our bodies exercise so we can sustain healthy mind.
With that in mind, the annual Jump Rope For Heart event is scheduled for April 25th. This event has been very successful at Hopewell Crest for many years. Our students participate in the Jump-a-thon and collect pledges from their family and friends to help the American Heart Association in the fight against heart disease and stroke. It is an afternoon of fun, fitness, nutitious snacks and exciting music. It is a very worthwhile event stressing the need for a healthy lifestyle. Any student can join in by pbtaining a permission slip/pledge envelope from Mrs. Havens.
Anyone having any questions can contact me by phone: 856-451-9203 ext. 201 or through our school e-mail mhavens@hopewellcrest.org.
