It seems as though I was just decorating the classroom door, displaying an owl with the name of each first grader, surrounded by the welcoming slogan: "First Grade is Something to Hoot About".
As the school year progressed, the boys and girls worked hard and focusing on being the best they can be was both motivating and challenging for six year olds.
Now that the school year has ended, I will remember the eagerness, enthusiasm, and uniqueness of each child.
