Final Exam Schedule – Eighth Grade
Monday 6/1 – Social Studies
Tuesday 6/2 – Math
Wednesday 6/3 – Science
Thursday 6/4 – Archdiocesan Exam **counts as religion final
Friday 6/5 – Reading
Our Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Book Fair was a huge success! I have not yet received a total of our sales but we are very close to $10,000. You can still shop online at bn.com/mybookfair and enter our bookfair id number 515858.
As the graduation activities approach, please keep the following in mind:
The graduation fee is due tomorrow. Please return in an envelope with your child’s name and the slip at the bottom of the sheet.
Graduation caps and gowns will be sent home on June 3rd. Please do not lose any pieces such as tassels or collars. There are no extras in the school. Gowns must be steamed/pressed for graduation.
The Eighth Grade Dance is scheduled for June 5th at the Guiding Star in Country Club.
• Directions will be sent home tomorrow.
• The ladies must have straps on their dresses.(Clear straps are fine.)
• Gentlemen may not wear tuxedos.
• No student is to arrive in a limo or rented car.
• The dance begins promptly at 7:00 pm.
• Parents are asked to return at approximately 10:45. At that time, the students will ballroom dance and the girls will dance with their fathers and boys will dance with their moms. The dance ends at 11:00 pm.
• The students will be dismissed at 11:30 that day.
• Students have received information regarding dance pictures taken by Lasting Impressions. Please go to www.pictage.com to register. All orders must be done online.
Kelly Rosati and her parents have kindly offered to host the pre-dance pictures. The entire class, their families, and friends are invited to attend. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a date for the dance. This is a time for the entire class to be together and take pictures. Please arrive at 5:00 pm and bring your cameras and smiles! Johnna Squitieri and her parents have kindly offered to host the after-dance party. Again, the whole class has been invited. The party will begin following the dance. The addresses for both events can be found on the invitation. Please email me with any questions regarding the events.
Yearbooks will be distributed on June 9th.
Graduation trip:
• The trip is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10th.
• We will be having breakfast at school and then leaving for the cruise at approximately 9:30. Our expected return time is approximately 2:30.
• Students should bring cell phones to keep you apprised of our schedule.
• Students are expected to dress nicely that day – no jeans, sneakers, shorts or collarless t-shirts should be worn. Ladies may wear sundresses, skirts, capris, sandals, etc. Gentlemen may wear khakis, collared shirts (no ties are necessary) and shoes.
Graduation is scheduled for June 12th at 5:00 pm in the Church.
• Students will meet in the gym at 4:30.
• Girls must have white shoes and boys must wear white collared shirts and ANY tie. The tie does not have to be a certain color, just the shirt must be white. Boys must also wear dress pants and shoes.
• Graduation will start promptly at 5:00 whether everyone is there or not. Please do not miss processing in with the class.
• Also, no videos will be allowed. The school has hired a professional videographer to capture the graduation and this is included in the fee.
• Seating arrangements will be chosen the week prior to graduation and pews will be marked with your family name for that night.
• The graduates celebrate with a mass first and a ceremony immediately following in the Church.
• Students will be given their report cards after the mass and should find me outside the Church.
