A fun day was had by all on Lounge with a Good Book!The first graders were paired with eighth graders. The older children read to the younger ones. They munched on munchkins and juice.
Many thanks to the parents who were able to join us on Open House Day. It meant a lot to your child that you were able to see him/her working on Math in our class.
Reading: Review words: hello could walk pull all oh
New Words: girl boy together when people care water sled swim
Please put these words on index cards and review them and all other words every night.
Math: The children are continuing to work with fact families to see the relationship between addition and subtraction.
Scince: We are learning about what's in the sky and what causes day and night. Look for notes in your child's notebook.
Science Fair Projects have been presented. All the children worked hard. I'm so proud of them!
Test Schedule:
Wednesday, February 8th - Reading: go over last week's words.
Thursday, February 9th- Math fact families. Go over pages 121- 128.
Religion chapter 10. Look for notes in your child's notebook on Tuesday.
Friday, February 10th- Spelling s blend words listed above.
Monday, February 13th - Science: See notes on Objects in the Sky plus review workbook pages 91 through 95.
Looking Ahead:
Report Cards will be distributed to each child on February 15th. Look for it in your child's folder.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD COMES TO CLASS WITH THE NEEDED SUPPLIES. (sharpened pencils, glue stick, scissors, and crayons).
Please ensure that your child dresses warmly with a hat and gloves as we do have to cross the street to get to the cafeteria. The children do go out to play if the temperature is 32 degrees and above.
Homework: Please check the homework notebook each night
and ensure that all assignments are completed neatly.
Lunch Play Time: The children are permitted to bring ONE SMALL TOY in a bag to be played with be provided at lunch time only when the children stay in at lunch. No toys will be taken outside any longer.
Chips/ pretzels can be purchased at lunch for 50 cents a bag. Please put chip money in an envelope with your child's name on it. Ice-cream is sold every Wednesday for $1.00.
