Oct 1-12:  At this point you have been assigned all reading for Chapters 1, 2 and 16 in the blue book and are responsible for ALL the questions in the chapter.  You are also responsible for chapters 1 and 2 in the green book and all questions.  Many of you are falling behind already,  Test for all sections on chapter 2 on Wednesday 10/10.  I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU REREAD THE CHAPTER AND THOROUGHLY UNDERSTAND THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS.  Remember the answers are in the back of the book to be used to ensure that you are correct.  this is not a penmanship class.  You get no creddit for copying the answers from the back to the front.

I am available if you need help, but YOU must put in the effort in class and at home.  DO NOT ask me to stay after school to teach you the lesson because you were not paying attention or you did not raise your hand when I asked if everyone understood.

It is OCTOBER.  Everyday you fall behind makes it harder to catch up..FOCUS, STUDY,  make the effort.

For 11th grade Chemistry you must have a notebook, a marble notebook for labs (which stays in the classroom), a calculator and a positive attitude.  Chemistry is challenging but every one of you can learn it.  You MUST stay focused through the year because each lesson builds from the one before it.

The first few days we will be reviewing scientific language and math concepts which are essential to learning chemistry.  Do not assume that you know the math just because you have ssen it before.  You must BE SURE that you can do the work so that you will not be lost later in the year.

The key to success is paying attention, doing the homework and UNDERSTANDING the lessons as we go along.  DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO FALL BEHIND.
