COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this course is too ensure that every Catholic understands how the Gospel and church teaching call us to choose life, to serve the least among us, to hunger and thirst for justice, and to be peacemakers. As followers of Jesus, we must live justice and peace. We must seek to perform the actions of Jesus, the liberator of the poor and vulnerable people. To achieve this goal, the course has been developed with the following objectives in mind.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1.    The course places God at the center of the pursuit of justice. God wants goodness for all creation, especially the poor and vulnerable. God invites you to deepen your relationship Him, others, the earth and yourself.
2.    The course invites you to deepen your awareness of the reality of injustice in the world around you and to consider that reality from the perspective of God’s love for the world.
3.    The course invites you to use the values of the Scriptures and Catholic social teaching not only to identify the causes of injustice but also to imagine ways toward a world of justice and peace.
4.    This course will inspire you to act for justice.  Even though the vision of justice and peace promoted by Scriptures and by Catholic social teaching may seem unrealistic to you, we will examine true stories and case studies that have demonstrated that people, including young people have the power to transform injustice in the world by living in the right relationship with God and others.
