We have been working really hard in 3-210. I am so proud of each and every one of my students on how hard they are working.
Please make sure that your child continues to practice writing script at home. Some children are falling behind in their pacing because they do not remember how to write certain letters in script.
Basic multiplication skills should be mastered by now. We have started multiplying 2 and 3 digit numbers by a 1 digit number. This will be hard for the children who have not mastered their basic skills as of yet.
In Science, we are learning about plants and the parts of plants. After Easter vacation, we will be planting our own plants in order to track the progress of the development. We willget to see each stage of a plant's life cycle.
We are continuing traveling around the world. We have left China, and now have landed in Italy. At some point, the children will be having a visit from a special guest who will be talking to them about Italy.
I am sure that the children have been telling you about all of the writing assignments that we have been working on. Their pen pal letters have once again been delivered and we are waiting to hear from them.

Student Council Corner:
The council has raised over $800.00 so far this year toward our goal of replacing the stage curtains.
Future plans include:
Pretzel Day, Icee Day, Ice Tea/Lemonade Stand, Spring Play and Concession stand, Silver Wars/Coin collection
Reminders:
Your child should come to school with at least 3 sharpened pencils.
Responsibility is a big transitional skill in the third grade. Your child is expected to gain more and more responsibility as the year goes by. Because of this, your child will not be allowed to go back up to the classroom if they forget a book.
Remember that prayer is an important part of your child's Catholic education. Since you have chosen to send your child to a Catholic school, prayer is an essential part of the day. We do go to class masses often, therefore, your child is expected to know the responses of the different parts of the mass. Prayer life does not end when your child receives their First Holy Communion and Reconciliation. It is an onging process. I thank you for your support in this area.
