Dear Fourth Grade Parents and Orchestra Members,
Welcome to the Sparke/ Stokes 4th Grade Orchestra Program!
We will have weekly lessons once a week. I will give out lesson schedules and supply lists as soon as they are ready. Once we begin, please remember to bring your instrument and lesson book on your assigned day. We will give out lesson books once they are delivered to the school. If you play the cello or bass, you will use a school instrument but still need to bring your lesson book, folder and pencil.
Home practice is very important! I know you are all very busy but please try to find 10-15 minutes a day,5 days a week, to practice your beginning lesson assignments. Do your best and you will be proud of yourselves! Don't get discouraged if you don't always hear a smooth sound at first! With practice, you will get better and better!
If you are having trouble with anything, please ask me to help you. Also, please do not try to tune your instrument. I will do that for you at each lesson.
We will have a fun concert in June and everyone will be very happy to come see you play in the orchestra!
