All children in Stokes School in Kindergarten through fourth grade attend general music classes at least once a week.
Our general music classes for Kindergarten through second grade students prepare them in learning new songs and participating in fun musical activities. Our second graders also learn how to read different musical rhythms and playing all of our different classroom instruments to create new rhythms of their own.
Our instrumental and vocal programs begin in third grade. All third graders will be learning the recorder and new notes and songs.
Fourth grade students will be able to participate in performing groups such as band, chorus and orchestra.
FOURTH GRADE CHORUS:
In the fall, Chorus groups work on new songs on Monday or Friday before school. In the spring, Chorus groups work on new songs on Monday or Tuesday before school. A schedule was given to the Chorus members. Additional morning rehearsals will be added as we get closer to the concert dates.
Fourth Grade Chorus perform in the Winter concert and the Spring Concert. Dates of the concerts are posted on the Stokes School Music website or click on the link below.
