Welcome... please use this website to keep track of assignments and due dates. There is also a link for you - and parents - to e-mail me with questions. Check back often - it will be updated every Monday.

Grading Policy:
1. Tests, Essays & Projects (40%): Remember that if you are absent the day before the test, it does not excuse you from taking the test. Also, if you are absent on the day of a test, it is your responsibility to make it up during an extra help session within 2 weeks!
2. Homework (25%): Homework will consists mostly of reading assignments and creating outlines. You MUST complete all reading assignments in order to succeed in this class. Due dates are important – be sure to hand assignments in on time! Late assignments will loose points each day they are turned in late (10 points per day).
3. Quizzes and Journals (25%): Quizzes may be open or closed notes. Journals will be assigned periodically so that you may respond to class material.
4. Class Participation (10%): Let me hear what you have to say!

**Extra help is available every Tuesday and Thursday before and after school. Please see me if you would like to set up another time to meet!**
A note about attendance: According to Patchogue-Medford High School policy, students will receive an attendance failure upon their 28th unexcused absence. The course will then have to be repeated to receive credit. Also, every four tardies (lateness to class) equals one absence. Upon a fourth tardy, a student will receive In School Suspension. Cuts will result in detention.
