Dear Parents,
We are in full swing with “The Tempest” and will be sending a lot of information home over the next few weeks. We will also try to post as much information as possible on the website. We have attached a working calendar for our tempest practices, rehearsal, and performances.
Shakespeare and Company will be at WHMS on May 8th to work with the children in small groups. We will divide the children into four groups to work with the acting company and then will work with the remaining children on crew assignments.
“Crew Day”
We would like for the parent volunteers to come and spend a few hours with us on crew assignments. I have attached a list of children and parents that have signed up for particular crews. Parent volunteers will be contacted by the teacher in their crew to discuss ideas and set up for May 8th “Crew Day”. Parents should arrive at 9:30 to begin working with the children. Parents will be working with various members of their crew at different times because the children will also be working with Shakespeare and Company. If you do not see your name on the attached list, or haven’t had a chance to sign up to volunteer to work on our play, that’s ok; just show up at 9:30 and you may join in. Many hands make light work, as we like to say!
Pizza Lunch on Thursday
We will need to provide lunch for Shakespeare and Co. on “Crew Day”. We have arranged for additional pizza for “Crew Day” for both parent volunteers and Shakespeare &Co. We would also like to provide additional beverages, a garden salad, and dessert. Please fill out the form below, if you can provide a lunch item for that day.
Costumes
As far as costumes go, we would like to create costumes at school to keep our costumes consistent. We also have costumes from previous years that can be worn with minor alterations. We will send a detailed list of anything your child needs to get on their own as soon as possible. We are currently in need of vests, belts, and puffy peasant blouses/shirts. Please check your closets for these items.
Yours,
Andrew, Cindy, Michele, and Sherrie
