It's hard to believe that the school year is about to start... in one month!!!!  With that comes the need to ensure that we have volunteers to chair all of our fundraisers for next year.  There is a handout that outlines open positions that need to be filled for next year. Just give Sabrina Pilon a call or email her and she'll send that handout to you (298-2003 or sbpilon@ optonline.net).  Remember!!! All hours worked are hours that you can log in as your required volunteer hours!!!

We've started a yahoo groups that now acts as our center repository for guidelines for each activity or event. So if you're thinking about running an event that you haven't a clue about, check out this repository.  Although we don't have all guidelines for every event yet, that is the goal, and it's a good place to start.  To have access to the yahoo group, just send an email to:
    StMarysSchool-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
If you have any questions, you can contact Jennifer Lindros (297-0334 or jenlindros@verizon.net). These guidelines will allow someone who may be interested in running an event to review what is entailed and decide if it's for them.

SCRIP CARD PROGRAM WILL CONTINUE IN THE 2008/2009 SCHOOL YEAR!  THIS IS THE EASIEST FUNDRAISER IN WHICH YOU CAN PARTICIPATE AND IT COSTS YOU NOTHING... EXCEPT A LITTLE PLANNING.  Buy the gift cards through this program and use those same cards to spend what you would normally spend and St. Mary's will receive a percentage of your purchase – it’s that simple!  Just sign up for the program either via the website (link is located at the bottom of this page) or thru Patty Yereance and Lynn Simonetty. If you want more information regarding how to signup for this fundraiser, please join us at the first Mothers' Guild Meeting in September and we'll fill you in.  Look in the brown envelope at the beginning of the school year for information on our first meeting.

When using the SCRIP CARD website, be sure to enter the Enrollment Code for St. Mary's School which is AA37275315482.  After you enroll and once school starts, simply place your order online for the card you desire and print the final order sheet and return with your check to Lynn Simonetty c/o Jack Gr. 4.  You select how you would like the cards delivered, either in the weekly Brown Envelope, or you may pick them up at the school office. For forms or additional information, please contact Patty Yereance 298-1153 or Lynn Simonetty 298-9488.

AND DON'T FORGET OUR VERY SUCCESSFUL THRIFT SHOP!!! The continued success comes from parents willing to volunteer every so often, so that the burden doesn't fall on a few.  The Thrift Shop is only open two days a week, Tuesday and Saturday from 10AM to 2PM, and signing up to work is what's going to keep this very effective fundraiser and community service going. Please contact Jennifer Lindros (297-0334 or jenlindros@verizon.net)to find out what days need filling.  We need at least two people each Tuesday and Saturday to work.  And yes, it is open throughout the summer, so again, if you can give a few hours of your time, it would be GREATLY beneficial to your child's school and to the organizers of the Thrift Shop.
