Off to Barcelona, Spain tomorrow! We'll be away on a cruise that begins in Barcelona! We're excited about the trip and the exciting ports! We're doing a side trip to Squille and Solopaca, Italy to the old town where Grandma Teresa's family was from. If time allows,
we''ll see Pisciotta too, the city where additional relatives were from. After the cruise we'll spend a little extra time in Barcelona!!

Congratulations for a great year of Scrabble.
Keep playing it over the summer and remember to play card games as well. Both activities will do a great deal to make you even better students!

Our grand champion received her own official SCRABBLE game and the remaining members of the championship flight and the scorekeepers received
novelty candy.

      WEDNESDAY

This day flew by! We began by reading a few more pages in AL CAPONE DOES MY SHIRTS. The remaining few pages and to find out what happens to Natalie, Moose, and the other characters in the book you'll have to finish on your own! Then we enjoyed a snack of fruit rollups and juice sent in by Ryan Weaver's Mom. We also enjoyed gum brought in  for everyone by Mrs.
Plant. Then Mrs. Gutowski's class came over and we devoured Popsicles and watched CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN.
After they left, we quickly stacked desks, chairs and
received our last report card for this year.

Thank you Ms. Weaver for the tasty snacks and window decoration. Mr. and Mrs. Colgrove you were right, I love photos and the framed photographs Mr. Colgrove took were splendid. I'll hang them up in the classroom next year. Mrs. Anderson, I can't wait to get home later today to dig into the homemade rice pudding. Everyone at my house needs to be really good today or else, the whole bowl is MINE! I'll return your dish early in the vacation as Ashley May and I will be having lunch together up here somewhere, when she returns from her honeymoon. Thank you for the notes, they were special.

It was a great year! Our homeroom did outstanding on all of the state tests. I was so proud to see so many of the kid's names on the top ends of all of this year's lists. Many thanks to all parents who plodded, I'm sure, through many pages of reading and math with their kids. But, it was all worth it for the final results! Many thanks to Mrs. Gutowski and Mrs. James for making such a difference on the class's math test outcome. Thank you. HARD WORK certainly pays off. Keep reading guys, it's the most important thing you can do to make yourselves better students. In the fall come tell me about some of the best books you read over the summer. Have a wonderful summer.

Next year will be another terrific year! Mrs. Nyahay
has allowed us to pair up by two for the 5th grade
schedule next year! Mrs. Gutowski and I  will have our two groups humming right along right from the
beginning. We're planning some interesting learning and growing to occur and to have everyone ready for the Soc. St. test in November, the reading/language arts test in January, and the math test in March.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER VACATION AND READ AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!!

                 TUESDAY

THANK YOU TO THE CANAJOHARIE P.T.A.
for providing the 5th graders with a delicious  McDonald's breakfast this morning.  We enjoyed eating our breakfast with Mrs. Gutowski's class and then we stayed for a movie! We started off the morning checking out our Memory books and other things we had on our desks. Then we read for a short time in AL CAPONE DOES MY SHIRTS. Then we headed over to Mrs. Gutowski's classroom. When we finished the movie some of had the chance to chat with Miss May for a while. (Miss May's wedding is July 12th!) We pulled a name from a cup and Josh Handy won the quilt we made back in September. Then we got our things ready for dismissal.   ONE MORE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Paige for the cool cow pen! Thank you Christina for my own copy of FARKLE! Trevor, thank you for the frame/pen combo. You were very kind. Paige, that's a great summertime hairdo.

           MONDAY

We started off with a review of our spelling words. Then we read in AL CAPONE DOES MY SHIRTS. Moose
lost track of Natalie when they were out on the rock. Natalie and a convict became friends. Natalie had a horrible temper tantrum because she was kept inside by
Moose. He didn't want her to see 105 again. Then we played our elimination round for the SCRABBLE TOURNAMENT on Wednesday. The winners of the elimination
rounds were Ryan Weaver, Adriana Gomez, Ariannah Logan, Mackenzie Stock, and Jordyn Logan. Practice, Practice, Practice! Then we went back to reading AL CAPONE DOES MY SHIRTS. We left off when Moose's Dad was telling his Mom that they really needed to talk to one another more. Then we quickly cleaned out our desks and lockers.
