Reading: A new unit, focusing on Freedom this month, read Mr. Kang at home for practice, skill: cause and effect...One student has reached the goal of 25 books! Let's get everybody there. Most nights, I assign "red for 20 minutes"
Writing: starting an essay unit, and learning how to answer questions like the older kids (DBQ's)
Math: division patterns...we are getting tough on learning multiplication facts now. Everyone needs to answer at least 90 facts in 5 minutes. When they can do it, we'll celebrate with pizza or ice cream. Get those flash cards back out!
Practice long division - test next week (probably Wednesday)
Social Studies:culture of China
You have probably heard, all of our work is in cursive now. The students are developing very fluid, lovely styles. It's ok to make mistakes with letter formations. We are correcting them as we go along.
