The school year is off to a wonderful start. I thank you all for sending all the paperwork that I asked you to fill out. It is extremely helpful.
We are working hard together each day. We have had our first library day. Library day is every Wednesday. Please be sure that your child brings his/her book back to school by Tuesday. We are working hard in math and have begun what we call "Writing Workshop". We are also spending lots of time preparing ourselves for the beginning stages of being good readers and writers. Reading is a big part of first grade. Please spend as much time reading with your children each day. Even if you read street signs as you drive, newspaper or magazine headings...anything goes, and every little thing we do will help!!!
Again, please be certain to check 'Take Home Folders' each night and sign them as well.
