UPDATE ON PTSA MEETINGS: To appreciate everyone's valuable time we have cut our meetings down to just 4 times this year. If we need to modify them we can. Please make a note of the following changes:
Tuesdays @ 7pm: September 18th, January 8th, March 11th, and May 13th.
Advantage Afterschool Program INFO:
Just wanted to fill you all in about our meeting tonight (October 23)! It lasted from 6:45-7:30pm. Betty Mallot explained the program currently in the Ogdensburg district. We asked questions about funding, what types of programs, staffing, etc.
This program is M-F from 3-6pm.
WOW! There are GREAT enrichment programs provided there.
The idea was brought up by Mr. Nowak about seeing if Mr. Clive Chambers might explore the possibilities of extending the program to Morristown
Mrs. Lincoln is taking back the information she recieved tonight to Mrs. Ouderkirk.
This program is much more than a latch key/babysitting program. There are great enrichment opportunities for the students too! They also recieve homework help. They work with cooperative extension,SUNY Canton, OCP, Remington Art Museum, SEACAP and more!
What we need to do is get a survey out to find out how many of our parents in the district would be interested in this program for thier students. If anyone is interested is helping to find more info or getting parents interested in the program let me know. Mrs. Mallot did say we could observe her program if we wanted to see for ourselves how it's run.
Please contact me and let me know if anyone is interested in learning more!
I hope this helped you to feel connected! Also let me know what your thoughts were on our Elementary Communication Calendars! (Distributed in grades pre-k through 6 only)
There are extras available!
Dont forget our magazine fundraiser! www.magfundraising.com
See you on November 13th at 7pm!
SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR OUR PTSA and BECOME A CARD HOLDING MEMBER!
Memberships will be sold at every meeting starting in September: $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. Membership dues are for one year. Becoming a paid cardholder also makes you a State and National PTA member. Portions of the annual dues do also help support the local Morristown PTSA.
Please understand that by joining, you are not committed to attend every meeting. There are lots of different ways to support our local MCS PTSA unit.
You can choose which will work best for you! If you can bake, donate supplies, make copies, and lots more!
Come get to know our GREAT students and staff at Morristown Central School! The Morristown PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) is looking for volunteers to be a part of the “Greeters Table” in the lobby of Morristown Central School.
The “Greeters Table” is a wonderful way to touch base with our students and staff! We are looking for persons who can donate time, whether it be just an hour or all day. By having the presence of a parent or community member shows everyone how we are all connected and care about our students.
If you are interested or just would like more information please call Barb Griffith at 393-3699
