November flew by! It was so wonderful to see all of you at our conferences last week. I was so proud of the children; they each did a terrific job presenting their goals and portfolios. They have changed and grown so much already.
I wanted to let you know that today is my last day. I am having surgery on my hand tomorrow and I will be out until Friday, December 12th. My substitute teacher will be Mrs. Maria Welch. She retired from her fourth grade position here at St. Joseph School last June. She and I have met and I have made plans for the time I will be missing. Mrs. Welch will try to keep our routine and hopefully this won’t be a difficult transition for the children. I would ask that you keep me in your prayers.
This week is a short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The children will have only Math homework on Monday night and the November Book Report is due tomorrow. There will not be any assessments this week, yes! Mrs. Welch will hand out the December Book Report next Monday.
If you haven’t sent in the $3.50 for our Craft Day in December, please send this in by tomorrow. We had almost 20 parents volunteer to help, the first eight parents that sent in their slip I have already notified and they will be helping that day. Thank you so much, without your support I couldn’t do these kinds of activities with your children.
As you know, I have had two college students helping out for the past seven weeks. Miss Monte finished her hours last week and Miss Crow will finish when we come back from Thanksgiving break.
I hope that you and your families have a very safe and blessed Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Nuijens
Mrs. Madura
