It was great to see so many of you at Open House. The children just love to show off what they are doing. It seemed as if they were all having a great time.
We will be having our Class Mass on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. We will head to church at 7:55. Please feel free to join us if you can.
This week we will be starting our quilting project for Strong Hospital. Please send you child to school with the materials on Thursday. They will not need the batting until the last week. So, you can keep that at home for now. We will be working from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Thank you to those of you who have volunteered to help. If anyone else would like to stop in to help you would be most welcome. Many extra hands are needed to tie knots and thread needles. This is such a nice project.
This week we will be having both math and spelling homework each night. Please check your child's homework. Spelling sentences need to have at least seven words and one of the words must be an adjective. The sentences should now be done in cursive as well. Your child should be doing homework in a quiet place away from distractions to do his/her best. On Friday we will be having a math and spelling test.
This week Abbey Owens is our “Star of the Week”. Abbey is a cheerful student and always tries to do her best. Way to go Abbey.
As I end my weekly letter I would like to have you ask yourself one question. How many times do you ask your child to do something before expecting it to be done? It is an important part of helping to make your child a responsible student. Please be consistent and always make sure you follow through on your requests. This will also help me in the classroom.
Thank you for your continued support as we head into this second half of third grade.
