Welcome to the grade 4 Science and Religion website!
August 25 - 29
Welcome Back!!!
I look forward to meeting you at the ice cream social!

Please sign up (see the top of this page) to receive a notification every time that this site is updated.  We have new textbooks this year!!  We also have disks for each of you which you can take home.  (I will hand these out to your parents on "meet the Teachers Night."  If your parents are unable to attend, we will make other arrangements.)  This disk contains the entire text, so you won't need to take your book home with you.  Wow!  Explore the new textbook site below.

Religion runs on a four day cycle each week.  For the chapter, include the vocabulary terms and their definitions.  Copy the "We Believe" information in your Religion notebook as well.  This should be written in cursive, and blue, eraseable pen.  There will be an "open notebook" quiz every week.
We are also enjoying the addition of "Venture magazine."

Mass will be on Friday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. this year.

I will keep the Religion texts in the classroom.  Students may check them out at any time.

The vocabulary words and definitions are available via the textbook link (click on the word GLOSSARY).  There are also on-line study guides and activities available via the links below for each chapter as well.

The project for the first marking period is a short report on a Mammal.  Details to follow...

Hands on activity for the week is the dissection and examination of green onions.  We will use microviewers AND microscopes as well.

Homework:  Outline:  pages 1 & 2  (Monday)
           Illustrated pages:  pages 1 & 2 (Tues.)
Vocabulary:  page 3  (Wed. for 4-2)
                                 (Thurs. for 4-1)
           Quiz  (Thurs. for 4-2)
                 (Fri. for 4-1)
I will clarify this in class.  All assignments and due dates should be written in the student's assignment notebook.  We do this together as a class for the entire week's work on Monday.

There will be links listed below each week.  Sometimes a site may be required.  Others are given for enrichment.
