Welcome to the grade 4 Science and Religion website!
Nov. 9 - 13
HELP! We need clean, paper egg cartons for our "rocks and minerals" project. (No styrofoam, please.) Thanks in advance!
The Chapter 2 Science test is scheduled for Tues., Nov. 10.
The students were given the vocabulary words to study.
There will be 10 multiple choice, and 10 matching vocabulary. They must also know the names of the stages of a butterfly's metamorphosis.
The aquariums are now full of fish, snails, and plant life. We are all excited with the anticipation of the birth of many "fry!"

The Chapter 8 Religion test is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 12.
RELIGION
Religion runs on a four day schedule each week. For the chapter, include the reviews and vocabulary terms and their definitions. (These are located at the end of each chapter.) This should be written in cursive, and blue, eraseable pen. Each chapter will conclude with a 10 point test which includes multiple choice, true and false, and an essay format. A review test (open book and notebook) will then be given for each Unit. (Unit 1; for example, contains 3 chapters.) (The Unit tests will also be open book and open notebook.)
We are also enjoying the addition of "Venture" magazine.
Mass will be on Friday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. this year.
The Call to Faith series also includes a great website. The website will be used in class for reviews etc.
We are excited to begin section B of the Science text, and the topic of ECOSYSTEMS!

The Vertebrate Pet Store -- The Store With a Backbone
The poster project is due Friday, January 8, 2010
(No Mammals as choices)
This is your first day of work at the pet store! Your job is to draw (You can also use clip-art or a combination of both.) the posters that are put in a pet store window advertising your vertebrate for sale.
To complete your poster, you will need to know the following:
1. What are the main features of this type of vertebrate? If your vertebrate has a unique name, explain what it means.
2. Where do you find this type of vertebrate? What is its habitat?
3. List the different types of animals that belong to your vertebrate group. Draw and name at least 2 of them. (You can also use clip-art.)
4. You must use at least 2 sources of information. Tape your bibliography to the back of your poster giving credit to the sources (not Wikipedia) you used to gather your information.
5. Make your poster neat and informative. Remember that your poster should not contain one huge paragraph of words! Make it easy and fun to read and understand your message.
Remember that your vertebrate can NOT be a mammal, but may include the fish, ave (bird), reptile or amphibian.
