The Invertebrate Market -- The Store Without a Backbone
POSTER PROJECT IS DUE FRIDAY, JANUARY 8
This is your first day of work at the Invertebrate Market!
Your job is to draw (You can also use clip art.) the posters that are put in the store window showing the "Catch of the Day."
To create yhour "Catch of the Day" poster, you need to find out what type of invertebrate is featured, and gather all of the information you can about this group.
You are going to create a poster to put in the window of the store explaining to customers the featured item as well as giving a bit of information about it.
When you finish your poster, you will give a summary of the contents of your poster to the other workers in the store (your classmates) so they will learn about this item too!
To complete your "Catch of the Day" poster, you will need to know and include the following:
1. What are the main features of this type of invertebrate: If your invertebrate has a unique name, explain what it means.
2. Where do you find this type of invertebrate: What is its habitat? ("Found fresh today in the ocean, but also...")
3. List the different types of animals that belong to your invertebrate group. Draw (or clip-art) and name at least 2 of them; for example, you know that an isopod is related to a lobster NOT an insect.
4. You must have at least 3 sources of information. Tape or attach your bibliography to the back of your poster giving credit to the sources you used to gather the information.
5. Make your poster neat and informative. Remember that your poster should NOT contain one huge paragraph of words! Make it easy and fun to read and understand your message. You want to persuade others to purchase your "Fresh Catch."
