Students will not have written homework on weekends, they may want to read over the story or study another subject. Tests in Reading will not always be on a Friday. We cover more skills and strategies in 5th grade, therefore it may take longer for each selection.
RELIGION: In Chapter 8 the students will learn about the sacrament of Confirmation and explore the connection between this sacrament and Baptism.
The season of ADVENT is soon approaching, please discuss with your children your family traditions. During Advent the 5th graders will present their own traditions.
Advent has a twofold character:first, as a season to prepare for Christmas. It is when Christ's first coming to us is remembered. Second, as a season when that remembrance directs the mind and heart to await Christ's Second Coming at the end of time.
